Private William Campbell, 1st/8th Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 21 March 1918. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial. He was the husband of Annie Campbell, of 15 Lennox Street, Renton, Dumbartonshire.
