William Dollans was born in Old Kilpatrick, Dumbartonshire, lived in Bowling and enlisted at Clydebank. Serving in the 1st/9th Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 24 May 1915. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. With copied casualty details.
