Reginald Thomas Franklin was born in Aldershot, Hampshire on 15 September 1896. A Potter by occupation and having emigrated to Canada, he attested for the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force at Toronto on 20 May 1915. His medals record service in the Canadian Army Service Corps and Canadian Army Veterinary Corps but he is listed as being killed in action on 1 October 1918 as a Private in the 4th Battalion Canadian Infantry. He was buried in the Sancourt British Cemetery. He was the son of Charles Henry and Rebecca Franklin, of 107 Ash Road, Aldershot. With copied attestation papers and casualty details.
