A Great War M.C. group of five attributed to Captain W. H. Fisher, 6th Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment

Military Cross, G.V.R., reverse inscribed, ‘Capt. W. H. Fisher, North Staffs Regt, Somme Battle. July 1916’; 1914 Star, naming erased; British War and Victory Medals (Capt.); France, Croix de Guerre 1914-1918, with (incorrect) bronze oak leaf emblem on ribbon; together with a mounted set of six miniature dress medals - as above but with an additional India General Service 1908-35, no clasp, very fine (12) £200-250

M.C. and Croix de Guerre not confirmed.

With a pair of binoculars, eye piece rims inscribed, ‘Jockey Club’, contained in a leather carrying case, this inscribed on base in ink, ‘Wm. H. Fisher, 6th North Staffs Regt. 1915’; additionally inscribed on the sides in ink with locations in the East and in Mesopotamia and with battlefields on the Western Front.
