Marine Private James S. Foley, U.S. Marine Corps was wounded by shrapnel during the battle for Iwo Jima. He was admitted to hospital on 11 March 1945 for treatment to his chest and neck.

With a newspaper cutting concerning his wounding and bearing his photograph. With riband bars, metal insignia and buttons (8) for display purposes.
