George Thomas Jennings was born in Okmuglee, Oklahoma on 1 April 1921. As a Staff Sergeant he served in the Asiatic-Pacific theatre from 9 February 1943 until his death. He served in the New Georgia group operations, 30 June 1943-12 July 1943 and 18 July 1943-August 1943; Guam and the Marianas Islands, 21 July 1944-15 August 1944; patrols against enemy stragglers on Guam and Marianas Islands, 16 August 1944-1 November 1944; Iwo Jima, Volcano Islands, 22 February 1945-6 March 1945. He was killed in action on Iwa Jima, 6 March 1945. He was buried in the National Memorial Cemetery in Honolulu. He was the son of Corydon T. and Pennie Jennings, of Ada, Oklahoma.
