Bronze Star, reverse machine engraved, ‘Joseph F. Mills’, crimp brooch; Army Good Conduct Medal, reverse machine engraved, ‘Joseph F. Mills’; Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, with arrow head and three bronze stars on ribbon; Victory Medal 1945; Philippines, Liberation Medal, enamelled, very fine and better (5) £100-140

With a leather wallet bearing devotional card picture and white metal medallets (2) and the card, inscribed, ‘I am a Catholic. Please call a Priest. Pte. Joseph F. Mills .?. 30380558 35380558 .....’; an official card bearing the details, ‘Joseph Francis Mills, 345 Catherine Ave.’ and the stamp of Selective Service Local Board of Summit County, Akron, Ohio; an unnamed letter of appreciation to men of the 172nd Infantry Regiment, 43rd Infantry Division. With copied medal entitlement of the recipient. The 172nd Infantry Regiment saw action at Guadalcanal and at Luzon. Also with a lapel badge, a combat infantry badge and two cloth 43rd Division badges for display purposes.
