Ali Gauhar was an officer in the Kapurthala Infantry, Indian Princely State Imperial Service Troops.
Thomas Bowtell, who was born in England in January 1877, enlisted in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force at Alberta in July 1915, and served out in France in the Canadian Railway Troop.
Ray Ace Rice, who was born in Ontario, appears to have enlisted on two occasions with differing birth dates, so most probably he was underage at the first attempt in October 1915. Successful on his second application in July 1916, he saw service in France with the Canadian Field Artillery.
Francis Louis Ryden, who was born in London, England, in November 1898, was working as a painter in Kansas City, U.S.A., just before enlisting in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force in June 1918. He subsequently served in France in the 1st Central Ontario Regiment.
