William Robertson Singer (’R. W.’ on medal) was born in Kintail, Aberdeenshire. A Butcher by occupation, he attested for short service in the Sharpshooters (Imperial Yeomanry) on 11 March 1901. Served in South Africa, March-August 1901. Discharged at his own request from the 1st Provisional Battalion I.Y. on 9 October 1901. With copied service papers and roll extract.
