Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Cape Colony, Paardeberg (1745 Pte. D. Robertson, 2 Sea. Highrs.) good very fine £80-100

Donald Robertson was born in Moulin, Pitlochry, Perthshire. A Plumber by occupation and a member of the 3rd Battalion Scottish Rifles, he attested for the Seaforth Highlanders at Hamilton on 20 May 1885, aged 18 years, 3 months. With them he served in the East Indies, January 1886-March 1893 and was discharged to the Army Reserve in April 1893, re-engaging for the Reserve in May 1897. Recalled to the Colours, he served in South Africa from January 1900 until he was invalided home in September the same year. He was discharged on 19 May 1902. In addition to the above, he was awarded the I.G.S. Medal with clasp for Hazara 1891. With copied service papers and roll extracts; also with photocopied photograph of the recipient.
