Five: Warrant Officer J. S. Fifield, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve

Joseph Sydney Fifield, who was born in October 1913, served in the Royal Air Force from August 1939 until his discharge H.Q. 41 Group at Hawarden in October 1945, and qualified for his Air Efficiency Award in May of the latter year. He was also a qualified Flight Engineer.

Sold with the recipient’s original R.A.F. Service and Release Book, and a Certificate of Discharge in respect of his wife, Esher Fifield, a Flight Mechanic in the W.A.A.F., who served from November 1941 until December 1943, when she was released on compassionate grounds.
