Three: Flight Sergeant J. A. Marsden, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who was killed in action piloting a Halifax of No. 102 Squadron in a raid on Wuppertal in June 1943

James Arthur Marsden was killed in action while serving as a pilot in No. 102 Squadron on the night of 24-25 June 1943, when his Halifax failed to return from a sortie against Wuppertal. The son of Arthur and Clarice Marsden of Great Horton, Yorkshire, he was 21 years of age and is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
