First two medals in (damaged) packets of issue; W.W.2 medals in part of the card forwarding box, showing part of the address as ‘.... S. Shields, Co. Durham’.; with Admiralty forwarding slip for 4 medals; an envelope, dated 1946 addressed to ‘T. B. Storey Esq., “Lingfield”, St Peter’s Avenue, Harton, South Shields’; and with two Royal Navy sweetheart brooches, one in silver, the other in silver and enamel.

Royal Oak was a Royal Sovereign Class dreadnought battleship; an early casualty of the Second World War, sunk by the U.47 in Scapa Flow, on 14 October 1939.
