Three: Private W. E. Yearsley, 11th Hussars

1914 Star, with copy clasp (2345 Pte., 11/Hrs.); British War and Victory Medals (2345 Pte., 11-Hrs.) few contact marks, good very fine (3) £160-200

William E. Yearsley enlisted into the Army as a Boy on 1 April 1908. Posted as a Private on 1 April 1912 on becoming 18 years of age. As a Private in ‘B’ Squadron, 11th Hussars he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 15 August 1914. Listed as a casualty at Messines on 31 October 1914. Wounded a second time at Hamel, 30 March 1918. Discharged 7 April 1919 and awarded the Silver War Badge (not with lot). With copied m.i.c. (clasp not confirmed) and roll extracts; also with a copied photograph taken from the XI Hussar Journal of January 1916, ‘At the huts near Vlamertinghe, .... Yearsley, ...., doing a bit of cooking.’
