Four: Colour Serjeant G. Sharpe, Seaforth Highlanders

Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal (5881 Corl., 2 Sea. Highrs.) first and second clasps partly connected by metal rod; King’s South Africa 1901-02, 1 clasp, South Africa 1902 (5881 Corpl., Seaforth Highrs.); British War and Victory Medals (S-25671 C. Sjt., Seaforth.) first two with some contact marks, very fine and better (4) £280-320

5881 Private G. Sharp, 2nd Battalion Seaforth Highlanders, was wounded at Magersfontein, 11 December 1899. With copied roll extracts for Q.S.A. & K.S.A. The former confirms the three clasps and lists him as being invalided home on 10 August 1900 and medal issued 13 October 1904. The latter confirms the single clasp ‘South Africa 1902’, the mark for the 1901 clasp being crossed out.
