Four: Private W. McGough, Durham Light Infantry

Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Transvaal, South Africa 1902 (7217 Pte. W. McGough, Durham Lt. Infy.) number, rank and name renamed; 1914 Star (7217 Pte., 2/Durh. L.I.); British War and Victory Medals (7217 Pte., Durh. L.I.) nearly very fine and better (4) £140-180

William McGough enlisted into the D.L.I. on 25 June 1900 and served in the Boer War with the 1st Battalion. With the 2nd Battalion D.L.I. he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 19 September 1914. He was discharged on 17 April 1916 due to wounds and was awarded the Silver War Badge (not in lot). With original photograph of the recipient and copied m.i.c. and roll extracts.
