India General Service 1895-1902 (2), 2 clasps, Punjab Frontier 1897-98, Tirah 1897-98 (3597 Pte. C. Damms, 2d Bn K.O. York Lt Infy) jeweller’s mark on obverse left field, edge bruising, good very fine; another, 2 clasps, Punjab Frontier 1897-98, Samana 1897 (4990 Pte. S. Atkins, 2d Bn. Ryl. Ir. Regt.) unofficial connections between clasps, edge bruising, about very fine (2) £180-220

Samuel Atkins was born in Barrony, Co. Wexford. A Groom by occupation, he attested for the Royal Irish Regiment at Dublin on 1 December 1893. With the regiment he served in India, December 1895-December 1902; South Africa, December 1902-February 1905, and India, February-December 1905. Served in the Army Reserve, May 1906-May 1910. With copied service papers and roll extracts. Medal to ‘Damms’ with copied roll extract confirming ‘Tirah’ clasp.
