Waterloo 1815 (Ely Roberts, 1st Batt. 52nd Reg. Foot) fitted with steel clip and ring suspension, edge bruising, contact marks, good fine £2000-2400
Ely Roberts was born in Pembridge, near Hereford. He enlisted into the 52nd Regiment on 17 October 1799, aged 30 years. Was wounded by a musket ball at Corunna, 16 January 1809. In the Waterloo Campaign he served in Captain W. Chalmer’s Company, 1st Battalion 52nd Foot. He was discharged on 24 June 1817 and died in Hereford in 1845. With copied discharge papers, roll extracts and death certificate.
