Military General Service 1793-1814, 2 clasps, Martinique, Guadaloupe (W. Coulston, R. Y. Rangers) contact marks, therefore nearly very fine and a scarce casualty £1600-1800

William Coulston was born in the Parish of Frome, Somerset, and joined the Royal York Rangers on 28 February 1807. He was present in the operations leading to the capture of Martinique, 30 January-24 February, 1809, and Guadaloupe, 30 January-4 February, 1810. Coulston was discharged on 11 April 1811, in consequence of ‘the amputation of a leg occasioned by wound in the event of distinguishing himself at the capture of Guadaloupe on the 3rd of Feby. 1810.’ Sold with copied discharge papers.
