A Polish ‘Monte Cassino’ group of eight awarded to Corporal Wiktor Mikosz, Carpathian Signals Battalion

Cross of Merit, 3rd Class, with swords, bronze; Monte Cassino Cross 1944, reverse numbered, ‘8 737’; Army Active Service Medal; G.B., 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Italy Star; Defence and War Medals, all unnamed; with Identity Disk, with chain for wrist wear, inscribed, ‘Wiktor Mikosz W.9/35.P.’, this scratched and buckled, medals good very fine and better (lot) £100-140

Wiktor Mikosz, born 1911. With award cards named to Wiktor Mikosz for the Monte Cassino Cross (no. 8737); 3rd Carpathian Rifle Division Badge; Polish Independent Carpathian Rifle Division Badge; the British 1939-45, Africa and Italy Stars; plus one other card and two named slips. With riband bar bearing emblems and five cloth badges: 2nd Polish Corps; 8th British Army; 3rd Carpathian Rifle Division; ‘Poland’ sleeve badge and Polish eagle badge - these showing signs of damage and wear.
