John Anderson Stewart was born at Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire, Scotland, in January 1892, and enlisted in Lord Strathcona’s Horse at Pwesey in Wiltshire in February 1915. He settled in Canada after the Great War and died at Clearbrook, Matsqui, B.C., in February 1962; sold with copied attestation paper.

Harold David Spence was born in Toronto in August 1894 and enlisted in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force in August 1915. Embarked for England, he joined the 1st Canadian Mounted Rifles out in France in September 1916, but transferred to the 3rd Battalion, Canadian Machine Gun Corps, in March 1918, and was wounded in the leg and hand on 9 August. He was discharged back in Canada in March 1919 and died in Victoria, B.C., in July 1979; sold with copied service record.

Harry Ferguson was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in April 1892 and enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force in Winnipeg in September 1915. Embarked for England, he joined the 1st Canadian Mounted Rifles out in France and was killed in action at Maple Copse on 5 June 1916, while serving in ‘C’ Company. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial; sold with brief research.

Sydney Lionel Nixon was born in Carlisle, England, in May 1897 and enlisted in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force in Victoria, B.C., in April 1917. He died in Vancouver, B.C., in August 1950; sold with copied attestation paper.
