Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 4 clasps, Relief of Ladysmith, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal (832 Tpr. J. Hendley, Imp. Lt. Horse) clasps mounted in that order, last clasp a little bent and damaged, otherwise good very fine £90-120

John Caulfield Hendley enlisted in the Imperial Light Horse at Pietermaritzburg on 24 February 1900 and was discharged on 15 May 1900. He then enlisted in Robert’s Horse with the rank of Staff Sergeant and served for a year, being discharged at Pretoria on 15 July 1901. On 13 September 1901 he enlisted into the Canadian Scouts as a Sergeant-Major, being discharged at Cape Town on 6 June 1902. With copied roll extracts - all clasps confirmed.
