Ernest Owen Philips Cockcroft, a Farmer from the East London District, attested for Brabant’s Horse at Queenstown on 16 November 1899, aged 26 years. 79 Trooper E. O. P. Cockroft, 1st Brabant’s Horse, was wounded at Aliwal North, 11 March 1900. With copied attestation paper and published roll extract - name listed as ‘Cockcroft on both’.
