The 66th Battery R.F.A. lost four of its guns at Colenso, 15 December 1899. Lieutenant The Hon. Frederick Hugh Sherston Roberts, K.R.R.C. and Corporal George Edward Nurse, 66th Battery R.F.A. gained the V.C. in attempting to save them.
