General Service 1962, 1 clasp, N. Iraq & S. Turkey (NA(AH)1 D195802B RN); Gulf 1990-91, 1 clasp, 16 Jan to 28 Feb 1991 (NA(AH) D195802B RN); Saudi Arabia, Liberation of Kuwait 1991, with riband bar in case of issue; Kuwait, Liberation of Kuwait 1991, 4th Grade, with riband bar in box of issue, good very fine and better (5) £700-900

James Robert Stevenson was born in Rugeley, Staffordshire on 2 January 1965. Formerly employed as a Car Body Repairer, he enlisted into the Royal Navy in November 1982 as a Weapons Engineering Mechanic 2nd Class. Promoted to Weapons Engineering Mechanic 1st Class in May 1983 when on Fearless. Ranked as Acting Naval Airman (AH) 1st Class on Seahawk (Culdrose) in January 1989 and Naval Airman (AH) 1st Class on Heron (Yeovilton) in July 1989. Served with 846 Naval Air Squadron, December 1990-January 1992, during which time he earned the Iraq Medal with clasp and G.S.M. with clasp; latterly involved in flying humanitarian relief to the Kurds (Operation Provide Comfort).

With original Royal Navy Certificate of Service; History Sheets for Naval Airmen; award document for the Saudi medal; Certificate of Appreciation for Operation Provide Comfort; and five photographs taken in Iraq. Also with a Kurdish Humanitarian Relief/Operation Provide Comfort Medal 1991, white metal.
