Seven: Major H. C. S. Chilman, Royal Army Ordnance Corps, late Green Howards

1939-45 Star; Africa Star; France and Germany Star; Defence and War Medals, these unnamed; General Service 1918-62, G.VI.R., 3 clasps, Malaya, Cyprus, Brunei (Capt., Green Howards) third clasp loose on ribbon; General Service 1962, 1 clasp, Borneo (Major, RAOC.) mounted as worn, some with contact marks, good fine and better (7) £450-550

Howard Clifford Spencer Chilman was born on 27 September 1921. Commissioned into the Green Howards on 29 March 1941; appointed a War Substantive Lieutenant in September 1942; Acting Captain, January 1944-September 1948; Lieutenant, March 1944; Captain, September 1948; Temporary Major, January-April 1952. Transferred to the Reserve of Officers, November 1952. Appointed Captain in the R.A.O.C., November 1954; promoted Major, October 1957. Major Chilman, A.M.B.I.M. retired from the R.A.O.C. on 1 June 1976. With original photograph and copied research.
