Mark Anthony Lacayo was mentioned in despatches as an Acting Sub Lieutenant (A.) with No. 817 Squadron on board the aircraft carrier H.M.S. Victorious, for operations against the pocket battleship Admiral Scheer, the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen and escorting destroyers, as they proceeded north along the coast of Norway.
