Robert Nele Loring was killed in action at Hooge on 16 June 1915, while serving as a 2nd Lieutenant on attachment to the 3rd Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment.

Born at Hinstock, Salop, in August 1887, the son of John Loring, who later settled at Doddington, Nantwich, Robert was educated at Bradfield Junior School and Haileybury and entered the property business in British Columbia, Canada. Returning to the U.K. on the outbreak of hostilities, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 5th Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment, in December 1914, but was attached to the 3rd Battalion at the time of his death in action in the following year. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.

Charles Michael Loring was killed in action at Ginchy on the Somme on 3 September 1916, while serving in the 2nd Battalion, Warwickshire Regiment. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
