John Charles Door was born in Marylebone, London and enlisted at Hammersmith. He originally served in the 12th Reserve Cavalry Regiment. When serving in the 9th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment he was killed in action on 14 July 1916. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
