Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, South Africa 1902 (6515 Pte. A. W. Breame, E. Lanc. Regt.); Royal Air Force L.S. & G.C., G.V.R. (300926 Sgt. A. W. Arnold William Breame was born in Pontyfract, Yorkshire, in October 1883, and enlisted in the East Lancashire Regiment in December 1900, and quickly saw active service out in South Africa with the 1st Battalion (Medal & 3 clasps). Of his military service in the interim nothing is known, but he appears to have transferred to the Royal Air Force in August 1918, and was awarded the L.S. & G.C. Medal that December. Breame was discharged to the R.A.F. Reserve in December 1921, having served latterly as a Drill Instructor; sold with copied R.A.F. service record.
