World War I Period American Army Tunics and Peaked Forage Cap, the first single breasted with soft ‘stand-up’ collar, brown composition buttons bearing the American eagle and arms, the collar with ‘pin-back’ bronzed circular badges (one ‘u.s.’) the other with wings and a propellor, the right arm with sewn on khaki patch featuring two inverted chevrons over a winged propellor, the left arm with an ornate applied patch featuring a black cloth ‘A’ with white embroidered ‘26’ within the upper part of the A and a similar embroidered balloon and basket in the lower, an inverted red cloth chevron and at the cuff a gold thread chevron, medal bar displays the British Victory Medal ribbon; the second tunic in a finer worsted material has similar collar insignia, the buttons are blackened bronze and the right arm with applied khaki patch displaying a Sergeant’s inverted chevrons over a winged propellor, the lower left arm with two chevrons presumably indicating overseas service, complete with a pair of Bedford cord aviator’s jodhpurs, the stiff topped peaked forage cap of good quality worsted material has a broad braid welt, a blackened bronze cap badge, mid brown bound leather peak, remains only of leather chin strap, complete with leather sweat band and linen lining, very minor moth damage to the second and third items (4) £250-350
