James Seabrook was born in Shoreditch, London. A Labourer by occupation and a member of the 5th Battalion Rifle Brigade, he attested for regular service at London on 7 September 1891, aged 18 years, 5 months. With the 3rd Battalion he served in India, December 1893-February 1899. Transferred to the Army Reserve in February 1899, he was recalled to the Colours in October 1899 and served in South Africa in the 1st Battalion, October 1899-August 1900. Discharged on 6 September 1903. With copied service papers.
