Edmond Browne was born in Newmarket, Cork. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the Royal Dublin Fusiliers at Naas on 20 December 1895, aged 21 years. With the 2nd Battalion he served in the East Indies, October 1896-May 1897; South Africa, May 1897-February 1902; East Indies, February 1902-April 1903; Malta, September-November 1905; Egypt, November 1905-October 1907. Discharged 19 December 1907. With copied service papers and roll extract.
