The regiment lost some 593 officers and men during the siege of Ladysmith through various causes - the majority as P.O.W’s. Belcher served as a Colour Sergeant in the Bedfordshire Regiment during the Great War. His name is recorded on the W.W.1 War Memorial in Kensal Green Cemetery. With copied roll extract and other details.
