M.I.D. London Gazette 1 January 1943. ‘..... for bravery in face of the Enemy or in dangerous waters; or for zeal and devotion to duty.’

The M.I.D. was a New Years Honours award for 1943 for service on H.M.S.
Tenby.

H.M.S.
Tenby was a Bangor Class minesweeper launched in 1939. The ship distinguished itself in the Dieppe Raid and D-Day landings - gaining the battle honours ‘Dieppe’ and ‘Normandy’. She also established the world record for one continuous sweep, which was in excess of 72 hours off the Norwegian coast. The ship was paid off in June 1946 and scrapped in 1948.
