Pair: Sergeant G. Wilson, Parachute Regiment, late Coldstream Guards

General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp. Canal Zone (22214864 Gdsm, Coldm Gds); Efficiency Medal, E.II.R., 2nd issue, T. & A.V.R., with Second Award Bar (22214864 Sgt, Para), extremely fine (2) £350-400

George Wilson was born in 1931 and enlisted into the Coldstream Guards at Darlington on 24 April 1950. With them he served in the Middle East, February 1951-January 1954. Transferred to the Army Reserve on 23 April 1955 and discharged on 19 August 1958. Soon after he enlisted into the Territorial Army, serving with the Parachute Regiment; qualifying for the Efficiency Medal on 19 August 1970 and the clasp on 19 August 1976.

With Regular Army Certificate of Service and a small wooden glass-fronted frame containing two cloth and one metal pair of ‘parachute’ wings. Also with copied M.O.D. letters re the award of the above. The medals in individual blue leatherette cases bearing an appropriate metal name plate.
