In The British Journal of Nursing, November 1914, Miss Edith Pierce Toms was listed as a Nurse working with the Society of Friends (Quakers) under the auspices of the ‘Association des Infirmières Visiteuses de France’. Her m.i.c. lists her as entering the Balkan theatre of war in April 1915. The British Journal of Nursing, May 1915, reports that she was shortly to arrive at Kragujevac, Serbia.
