John McCormack (alias Hall) was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and enlisted at Grantham, Lincolnshire. Serving in the 9th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment he was killed in action in Gallipoli, 21 August 1915, aged 29 years. His name is commemorated on the Helles Memorial. He was the son of Mrs Margaret McCormack, of 8 Silver Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. With slip (mounted on card) to accompany the 1914-15 Star and copied casualty details.
