1914-15 Star (R.M.A.8228 Gr.); British War and Victory Medals (R.M.A.8228 Bomb.); Defence Medal, unnamed; Royal Fleet Reserve L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., 1st issue (R.M.A.8228 B.278 Gr. R.F.R.) mounted for wear, edge bruising, contact marks, good fine and better (5) £50-70

With a painted photograph of the recipient, post-W.W.2, wearing the uniform of the Observer Corps. Liberties seem to have been taken with the colours of his riband bar as he is shown as wearing those of the Military Medal and Queen’s South Africa Medal. In pencil on the back is written, ‘Gnr/Bombr W O Lane RMA Welsh Miner Served in E. Africa Exped Force in WW1’.
