Arthur Fitzgeorge Farrow was born in Whipstead, Suffolk. He attested for the Coldstream Guards at Horse Guards on 21 September 1891, aged 14 years, 1 month. He was ranked as a Drummer in April 1897. He served abroad in South Africa, October 1899-May 1900, seeing action at the battles of Belmont and Modder River (and probably Magersfontein) and then in Egypt, September 1906-February 1910. Returning home, he was discharged at his own request on 9 March 1910. During the Great War he returned to the Colours and served in various units (Coldstream Guards, Welsh Guards, R.F.C. and R.A.F.) at Home, 5 September 1916-14 March 1919. Post-war he worked as a Civil Servant. Farrow died in Shirley, Croydon on 17 December 1961. With copied service papers.
