Pair: Drummer William Renshaw, 41st Foot

William Renshaw was born in the West Indies and attested for the 41st Regiment at Canterbury on 19 July 1843, aged 14 years. He was appointed Drummer on 23 September 1843 and remained a Drummer for the rest of his service. After service in the Crimea, based at Scutari and Varna, and in camp before Sebastopol, where the regiment remained throughout the siege, Renshaw returned to England. In June 1857 the regiment embarked for Jamaica where, on 17 September 1859, Renshaw purchased his discharge. Sold with full service details and copied medal roll entries.
