Queen’s Messenger Badge, E.II.R. issue, by Garrard, London, silver-gilt and enamel with pendant silver greyhound, badge reverse inscribed, ‘84’, hallmarks for London 1964, with neck cravat, in case of issue, extremely fine £2000-2500

Attributed to Captain D. V. Warmsley, Royal Artillery and latterly, Royal Military Police.

With c.45 large original photographs, 254 x 206mm. size, taken at SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe), all identified - includes one of Captain D. V. Warmsley, SHAPE Provost Company, Royal Military Police; others photographs include Montgomery, Mountbatten, the Duke of Edinburgh and other high ranking dignitaries; also includes parade and group photographs. With one or two other smaller photographs. Also with a group photograph of the Royal Military Police - January 1951 Regimental Provost Staff - which includes Captain Walmsley, R.A. (Adjutant).

Recipient’s surname is ‘Walmsley’. He is confirmed in the Corps history as having served as a Queen’s Messenger from 1964 to 1982, and as having messenger badge ‘No 84’. Captain Walmsley died in 1992
