Andrew Honer was born in Bristol in 1957 and began his military career with the Infantry Junior Leaders Battalion in Oswestry, Shropshire. Later, posted to the 2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment, his first tour of duty was in Northern Ireland. He saw further active service in Mozambique in the mid-1980’s against the M.N.R. guerillas, after which he volunteered for service in the Gulf as a Battle Casualty Replacement during Operation Desert Storm. He suffered ‘Gulf War Syndrome’ and was latterly the Public Relations Officer for the Gulf Veterans’ Association. Was co-author with C. Ikeazor of The Ministry Syndrome - a paperback copy of which is with the lot.
