John Elhar Philpott was born in 1935 and enlisted at Canterbury on 30 March 1953. In the Buffs, he served in East Africa, December 1953-December 1954 and with the B.A.O.R., June-December 1955. He was discharged from the Buffs on completion of his first period of engagement, 29 March 1960. The A.G.S. was his only medal.
