India General Service 1854-95, 2 clasps, Jowaki 1877-8, Hazara 1888 (Lieut. C. C. St. E. Lucas, 51st Foot) slight edge bruising and contact marks, very fine £500-600

Claude Clifton St. Edmunds Lucas commissioned a Sub-Lieutenant, 51st Foot, on 11 February 1875; promoted to Lieutenant, January 1878; and Captain, February 1886. Served with the 51st Foot in the Jowaki Expedition, 1877-78. Served in the Afghan War 1878-80, being present at the capture of the Peiwar Kotal and at the forcing of the Sapri Pass (Mentioned in despatches); also in the operations around Kabul in December 1879 (Mentioned in despatches). Later served with the Bengal Staff Corps and was Deputy Assistant Commissary General, 4th Class at Agra.
