Georgian Period Royal Naval Midshipman’s Dirk, the 40 cm curved, unmarked and unfullered blade with gilt brass curved quillon, chequered ivory hand grip (cracked) and lion’s mask and mane back strap this with provision for a chain hand guard but no provision at the bottom, part leather scabbard lacking approx. 8 cm end and bottom chape, the ornate upper chape (18 cms) of gilt brass and having a pierced star pattern panel is complete with frog stud and two carrying rings, the blade dull and with surface rust, the majority of the gilt lacking £250-350
