St. Pancras Volunteers Battalion Orders March 21st 1809, comprising a printed single sheet headed by the regimental crest being a crowned circle ‘SPV’ with attendant laurel sprays and Corps. ‘Colonel Dalrymple will inspect the Corps on Monday next the 27th instant (particularly the Arms and Accoutrements) on the Parade in Fitzroy Square at half past twelve o’clock precisely. The Commanding Officer trusts that every Gentleman will make a point of attending on this Occasion etc., etc. ‘
N.B. The Evening Drills will continue as usual to the 31st March inclusive, Signed Robert Hamilton Lieut. Col. Commandant. Printed by G. E. Miles, Printer to the Corps, 127, Oxford Street. The reverse has a single ink inscription ‘Mr. Arnald’,
part torn across the centre, the margins with creases and very slight loss on one corner otherwise good clear condition £50-80

Note: Robert Hamilton is shown as a Captain in the 1804 War Office List of Officers, a Major in the 1807 List, succeeding to the Command c. 1808 and is still as such in the Parliamentary Return December 1812.
It is interesting to appreciate that even Commanding Officers of Volunteers at this time could only
request the members of the Corps to attend, but not command them.
