Together with a further loose set of pages ‘50a-50o’, with a letter from Hicks addressed to Sir Buntham (?) Backhouse, of Oakfield, Benwell, Newcastle-on-Tyne, to accompany the additional chapter.

With a poster announcing the formation of a Volunteer Rifle Corps, dated Alnwick [Northumberland], December 28th, 1859 - this torn in places.

Also with an original copy of The London Gazette, 27 March to 31 March, 1781, bearing an extract of a letter from Earl Cornwallis to Sir Henry Clinton, dated ‘Camp at Turkey Creek, Broad River, January 18, 1781’ re the war in America and other matters; and The London Gazette, May 11, 1781, bearing an extract of a letter from Lieutenant-Colonel Balfour, Commandant of Charlestown, South Carolina.
