Army L.S. & G.C., E.VII.R. (1283 Dmr. T. Rowlinson, Devon. Regt.) nearly extremely fine £40-60

Thomas Tyler alias Robinson was born in Islington, Middlesex. A Musician by occupation and a member of the 3rd Battalion Devonshire Regiment, he attested for regular service in the regiment at Devonport on 18 July 1885, aged 15 years. He served as Drummer, on the Permanent Staff of the 3rd Battalion, serving at Home throughout his military career, being awarded the L.S. & G.C. Medal by A.O. 75 of April 1904. He was discharged, having given notice, on 17 July 1908. With copied service papers - these state he was a ‘Very Good Musician’ and that his speciality instruments were the Double Bass and Bombardon.
