Thompson was awarded the L.S. & G.C. on 30 January 1939 and Trevett on 14 February 1941. H.M.S. Egret was an Egret class sloop; sunk by a glider-bomb off the N.W. coast of Spain on 27 August 1943. H.M.S. Grimsby was a Grimsby class sloop; sunk by enemy aircraft off Tobruk on 25 May 1941. With copied research.
